What happens when a there’s a fault line that found close to a dam? You call in the Army Corp of Engineers. The Army Corp of Engineers then went to work to find you what could be done and they contracted with TreviIcos South, part of the TreviIcos Corporation a full service geotechnical and foundation contractor headquartered in Boston, Ma. The project called for TreviIcos to pump massive amounts of concrete into the fault using high pressure pumps.
The problem for TreviIcos was that the climate was cold and frozen concrete would create untold problems and the costs would be staggering in terms of lost time and equipment. Permanent structures were not a good solution because of the job site, TreviIcos need a portable structure. A temporary shelter that could be installed and taken down leaving the environment as it was prior to beginning of the project. Engineers from TreviIcos contacted Fabric Structures-USA and within weeks Fabric Structures delivered and helped install 4- 48’W x 60’L x 23’H Modified Quonset style fabric structures with 16’ side walls.
These units were then configured so that 2 units were adjoined end to end to create two fabric structures that are each 120’ long. They are used to house heavy duty concrete mixing and pumping equipment so that the operation could continue 24 hours a day regardless of the weather conditions. This is just one of the many different ways a Fabric Structure from Fabric Structures-USA is helping to solve issues that affect every day people in every day life.
